Dan Swanö - Rarities

The one and only Swanö, Sweden's most celebrated autodidact culls a motley collection of covers outages intakes and bloopers worthy of any zippo reel...worth it for the Asia covers (theres 3 of them!) alone.

Beherit - Electric Doom Synthesis

Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance's second stab at dark ambient (after the somewhat forgettable and unpronounceable H418ov21.C), and what an improvement! Somehow Mr. Vengeance managed to incorporate that lunar black metal feel from Drawing Down The Moon with dance beats and trip hop and form them into songs (and I do mean fully differentiated songs) that are, for the most part, totally outside of the black metal genre. AND this came out in 1995! Definitely ahead of it's time and an album that I think has aged particularly well.

Meatshits - Ecstasy Of Death

If someone were to ask me who the originators of pornogrind were, well I might just have to point them in the direction of this hot little number here. The Meatshits' debut album from '93 isn't OTT technical with guttural vomit vox and pig squeals like you'd associate with today's pornogrind...this is more in the vein of the patented mincecore death of Belgium's prolific Agathocles (of course a complete 180 from the Belgian's thematically). Fun stuff and waaaay better than anything Lividity ever did. You better have this pumpin' through your earbuds while you nail that whore in the port-a-john (or cemetery, whatever the case may be :).

Silent Streams of Godless Elegy - Themes

Themes combines chamber RIO with pop song structures and wraps it all in a warm gypsy death metal tortilla. It seems like it shouldn't work, but SSOGE pull off the production with great finesse and aplomb. Just listen to Winter Queen or Lovin' On The Earth if ya don't believe...this is some seriously catchy stuff!!

Master's Hammer - Šlágry

When all were gone but two - wildness was wrought
RIO in spirit - blackness in their hearts
Genres come and go - styles flitter past
Somehow they even managed to blast Chuck Berry in the ass!
So if you want your metal with a bit of pedigree
Czech out this guilty pleasure - magnum opus - called Slagry

Sakaratul Maut - The Land Called Mahsyar

Sakaratul Maut is (was?) a raging one man death metal band from Singapore. Ya'll know Singapore right? That's where they cane people for looking at someone cross-eyed. Pretty cool place, I suppose if we had more canings in the states there'd be alot less misbehavin'. Well it seems to have worked for Mr. Maut cuz this is some tight and well put together drum machine driven dirty death-thrash...vocals could've used a little work though, sounds a little like Goat Thrower in that respect.

Genesis - Invisible Touch

My words cannot describe how kickass this album is, so I defer to the synopsis the indomitable Pat Bateman gives during these charming scenes from American Psycho....I couldn't agree more with his points....except for Huey Lewis...ewwww.

Crookers - Knobbers ep

Attention!  Every Monday shall henceforth be known as Guilty Pleasure Mondays, and to commence this glorious proclamation I present to you my first guilty pleasure, Crookers!

Crookers is an Italian DJ duo of Bot and Phra.  Their jams are sure to make you drop down back your ass up and start dry humpin' whatever is closest to you when the needle drops.  Infectiously raunchy tunes for your next booty call.

Had to remove link, but you can find this anywhere if you really want it.

Necrocock - Praktiky Pohrebnich Ustavu

This guy is a real piece of work, but I love him. Hell, I love all the members of Master's Hammer and their various side projects and offshoots... Fanta Storm, Marcel Valenta, even that creepy guy with the hitler moustache. Out of all of them, Necrocock has probably made out the best with his eponymous band and Kaviar Kavalier. To call this guy sleazy would be a gross gross understatement, but he can write some damn catchy, atmospheric goth rock. Although truth be told I'd rather be listening to Master's Hammer, which come to think of it would be a fantastic slogan to put on a t-shirt or bumper sticker. In fact I'm gonna go ahead and trademark that right
