Fly me off into space with this one baby, from L.A. sleazy, progressive....and hey, the world's first all-black hard rock band signed to a major label!

Cornbugs - Spot The Psycho
Happy Memorial Day everybody, today we celebrate a couple of true American heroes. Old Bill Moseley aka ChopToppers and Mr. Buckethead. Two men that have boldly gone where no one in their right mind ever would or should go...the ol hook and ladder gang are at it again suckin' eggs and suckin' air...dancin' and dancin'...yeah I got you in my heart too Bill.

Humble Pie - Eat It
Well my friends International Pi(e) day is upon us and since I did such an obnoxiously wonderful post last year I figured I'd continue the tradition...so have a big piece of Humble Pie (Frampton-less) and wash it down with a big mug of black coffee...sweetened with a little brown sugar if you please.

Loits - Vere Kutse Kohustab
Not too many other bands of note coming out of Estonia these daze, cept maybe for these goofballs or these goofballs. So give it up for some excellent Militant Flak'n'roll, let's hear it for Loits!!

Godzilla - II
Another Metal Enterprises release...maybe even more insane than Killer Fox, but surprisingly listenable, go figure. Still, it's just not very good except for a laugh...and even then your better off with that Red Foxx album I posted a while back (ol' Red is a "Killer" Foxx after all, hehehe).

Android Empire - Android Empire
Death'n'roll as played by sentient automatons. Very much like later Entombed, but with a really nice melodic dm vibe (I can hear a tiny bit of vintage In Flames). You really can't go wrong with this one.

Fertilizer - A Painting Of Annoyance
What is it with Germans and their knack for crafting idiosyncratic death metal? Much as the Czechs crafted wonderfully romantic death metal, the Germans seem to have cornered the market on perfecting the art of death metal + grunge. Atmosphere reigns supreme on Fertilizer's Painiting. So let me paint you a portrait...an undercoat of vintage Soundgarden mixed with the primal brushstrokes of an early Amorphis...and a few glazes of Led Zepellin II. Underground as hell, raunchy and wild. Fuck I love this album!

Modrý Efekt & Radim HladÃk
Had to repost Mr. HladÃk's hot joint with Modry Efekt from way back in '74. HladÃk is just a wonderfully expressive guitar player as evidenced by his virtuoso performance of Cajovna...
Olympic - Zelva
A bit of a history lesson here in the form of these Czech psych greats debut album from 1968. Funky, fresh and formidable, Zelva set the stage for all these great Czech bands you hear today, and of course introduced an unsuspecting world to Mr. Petr "Krest" Janda...but that is a tale for a different time...

Heiden - Obsidian
Pretty killer black'n'roll reminding me of the Estonian Loit's patented flak'n'roll or even the militaristic Norwegians in Vreid. Heiden retains an insatiable black metal characteristic letting blastbeats emerge from all the midpaced hellfire...I even hear some postrock guitar lilt in the mix, so there's a little something for everyone!

Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust
Midnight Oil on a grimmer than thou blog? Well, it is GPM, so what do you expect?! This is a damn fine album passionately performed by some very capable musicians. Of course best known for Beds Are Burning, but Dreamworld and Bullroarer are definitely cutz not to be trifled with.

Entombed - Uprising
Oh my what to say about Entombed? They were kings of death metal, abdicated the throne and became kings of death'n'roll, only to abdicate that throne and become losers of grunge (actually I like Same Difference, Clauses is a great song). Uprising was a timely return to form, the ultimate adrenaline rush with every song hitting you harder than the last...and as a bonus track features Superior, my absolute fav Entombed song ever. You cannot listen to this song and not want to go absolutely apeshit, fuck that goes for every single song on this monster, just listen to ol'LG now.

Leukemia - Suck My Heaven
Suck my heaven, suck my kiss. Rambunctious death metal with a lot of pizazz and that rock'n'roll fervor that we all love so much.
