Spawned from Cygnet (Swan x-1) of Darkness and continuing down that same grim hellish road; ie zippy speed driven black metal with atmospheric breaks in the vein of mid-period Marduk or Setherial. This is one of those albums that may not seem like much at first, but possesses that ever elusive x-factor that makes a band jump out from the pack. In that way, Witchbane kind of reminds me of the glorious
Ancient Wargod, although not as progressive and great as that band was. Still, give it a shot cuz
Soldiers has more than enough charms to please.
