Fudgeworthy Records Compilation

The infamous Fudgeworthy Records, home to all your grindcore, shitcore, noisecore, tardcore, whatever kind of disgusting lowbrow core you could possibly ever need. Founded by a gentleman named Infection Charlie, Fudgeworthy's reign of terror began with the Jesus Chrust 7" in 1990 and ended with the Phillipino black/grinders Kratornas' 7" in 2006. This label was the tastemaker of a degeneration, satiating the socially disenfranchised and mentally borderline mid-late '90's meat(shit)head prevert. G.G., Gonkulator, Meatshits A.C., Captain Three Leg...enough raw noise to keep you whacking your pud for daze. Fudgeworthy indeed.

Nuit Noire - The Gigantic Hideout

The return of Feeral Faerical tyranny from a skinny French dude with a truly whimsical sense of humor and knack for crafting catchy songs with downright awesome riffs.

Absurd - Facta Loquuntur

For anyone who read that Lords Of Chaos book, the band Absurd should ring a bell...they are the ones who wouldn't let a fellow classmate join their ranks, and then murdered him for good measure! Talk about adding insult to injury!! Nowadays, they would probably just leave a bunch of hate on his facebook page till he did himself in, ah the glories of the internet...but anyways, on to the music...Absurd's sound is sort of a love or hate type of deal; crudely recorded, out of tune (intentionally?), simple beyond belief, and often times more punk/folk/RAC than straight up metal. Honestly this sounds like a retarded Pogues cover band with a really grim production. But y'know what? That's exactly why I love it! These songs just have that "x" factor that elevates them from horrible to sublime (if not quite sublime, then at least enjoyable). Be it an epic vocal hook that will stay in your head for days (Eternal Winter) or a catchy riff that is pounded into oblivion. Listening to this again, I'm very much reminded of last year's excellent Misantropical Painforest album. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm sure these bastards wouldn't have it any other way.

502 - Viral Deity

Today is Labor Day, a day when we all can kick back, sip a tall frosty cold one, and listen to some raw black metal!! 502 (named after the Marduk song I'm guessing) is raw no doubt, but it's also pretty horrible. In fact, I must admit that my posting this on Labor Day is a bit ironic because it is such a fucking chore to get through the whole album...Recorded in anno 2002 by Russ, Clint and Shauwan, Viral Deity is a Von/Ildjarn worshipping smess of the highest order. For those that persevere, a most wonderful prize awaits at the end. If you can stomach it all the way through, you will be rewarded with the most retarded cover of Blitzkrieg Bop ever!!
So inexcusably terrible that it's almost brilliant in it's awfulness...almost.

Amon Goeth - Call the Master

Dr. Fe is the former vocalist of Root during their dema daze, before Big Boss got tired of sitting behind that  drumkit! On Call the Master the good doctor and his krew get loud and filthy. Motorhead meets early Root meets early Celtic Frost, or something like that. Rude and crude and mandatory.

Cardiacs

Cardiacs were a founding group of the British pronk scene of the '80's.  First known as Cardiac Arrest in the early part of that decade, they expanded to a 5 piece and made some incredibly strange music. Like fellow pronksters Uz Jsme Doma, Cardiacs were accomplished musicians and quite technical in their approach.  Witness the video of ringleader Tim Smith crooning unbelievably while handling guitar duties with aplomb (where's the fucking dog!?!).  Ironically, Mr. Smith recently suffered his own cardiac arrest, effectively knocking him out of commission from Cardiacs.  One hopes that he recovers and they someday play again, because this is some great stuff.

Awhile back I tried to learn the guitar solo to Day is Gone.  Tough Stuff!!  The links are for compilations of Cardiacs material; Archives being early stuff, while Various is later material, and a tribute.

Zubrowska - Are Dead

Some bands are able to transcend whichever shitty genre they're associated with.  Zubrowska are one of those bands.

Circle of Ouroborus/Crooked Necks - Ruins of Resurrection

Circle of Ouroborus have always been a wonderfully occult group of psychedelic enthusiasts, but it might be Crooked Necks (who I had never heard of before this release) who steal the split.  The Neckers melodic sense and use of clean git jangle brings to mind a black metalized version of Brit post-punkers Comsat Angels. Just try Poisoning the Seed or Nothing Was Ever There on for size and tell me I'm wrong.  Totally solid.

Hard-Ons With Neil Hamburger - American Exports

America's funny-man teams up with Aussie punk-rock band Hard-Ons for a fun little romp of an e.p.  Includes a cover of Black Flag's (of course) Six Pack.  Now I just need to post my W.C. Fields, Spermbirds mash-up.
